NSL is the first Indian steel factory to be given 4 ISO  Certificates

The Steel Plant, NMDC Steel Limited, NSL at Nagarnar, has received all four Integrated Management System (ISO) licenses at one go, making it the first of its kind in the country.

A major milestone in steel sector, the licenses were conferred to Shri K Praveen Kumar, Executive Director NSL along with the team by Deputy Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on Monday at kolkata.

The licenses include EMS ISO 14001, QMS ISO 9001, OHSMS ISO 45001 and EnMS ISO 50001.

These certifications encompass the core of NSL’s vision and its sworn devotion toward efficiency, safety and environmental protection. This appreciation should be an attestation to the commitment of NMDC Steel Limited to operate under high standards and the company’s constant effort to achieve improvement.

They represent the company’s commitment towards the integrated approach to life-cycle management and invention of sustainable means of steel production.

The BIS certifications not only distinguish NMDC Steel Limited as a quality and sustainability leader, but also motivate the steel industry to move forward with a strong sense of purpose and duty to the nation and the environment.

A BIS certificate is a certification provided by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) indicating that a product satisfies certain quality and safety requirements. The certification procedure includes rigorous testing and review to guarantee conformity with Indian requirements.
