CrowdStrike has announced its certification to ISO/IEC 42001:2023. It is the world’s first international standard for AI management systems, covering the design, development, and operation of AI-driven cybersecurity capabilities.
ISO/IEC 42001 certification covers key components of the CrowdStrike Falcon platform, including Endpoint Security, Falcon Insight XDR, and the Charlotte AI security assistant. ISO 42001 provides a globally recognised framework for responsible AI governance as regulatory oversight and enterprise adoption continue to grow.
Michael Sentonas, president of CrowdStrike, said in a statement, “CrowdStrike is among the first cyber security companies to achieve ISO 42001 certification, the world’s first AI management system standard,”
“For a cyber security vendor, responsible AI governance is foundational. This certification validates the maturity, discipline, and leadership behind how we develop and operate AI across the Falcon platform.”
CrowdStrike framed the certification as a trust signal for customers navigating evolving AI regulations and standards, especially as threat actors increasingly weaponize AI. While attackers operate without constraints, defenders must deploy AI under strict governance, accountability, and regulatory oversight.
The company stated that ISO 42001 strengthens its commitment to responsible, secure AI by blending automation and speed with transparency and governance. Its Falcon platform leverages AI to monitor behaviour continuously and provide real-time protection across endpoints, identities, cloud workloads, and the broader attack surface
ISO 42001 certification was granted after an independent audit by an accredited body that evaluated CrowdStrike’s AI management system, including its governance framework, policies, risk controls, and development practices. The company said the review confirms its commitment to safeguarding customer data and using AI responsibly as it becomes central to modern cybersecurity platforms.
CrowdStrike said that as AI changes both attack and defence, auditable frameworks like ISO 42001 will set the baseline for secure, large-scale AI deployment.
