Bajaj Auto reported on Monday a 20 percent drop in total vehicle sales to 2,97,188 units in March compared with the period of the previous year. The company had sold 3 69,448 vehicles, including commercial vehicles, in March 2021, he reported in a news release.
For the years 2021-22 Bajaj Auto recorded an 8% increase in vehicle sales to 43,08,433 units. During the period last year; the turnover was 39,72,914 units. Two-wheel sales fell 22% to 2,56,324 units in March compared with 3,30,133 units sold in the same month in 2021.
According to the company, total domestic sales in the preceding month dropped from 36 percent to 1.26.752 units. During the same period one year ago, the same thing happened with 1,98,551 units as of March 2021.
Exports have stagnated at 1,70,436 vehicles in March this year. By March 2021, the company had shipped 1,70,897 vehicles to markets around the world. Domestic sales of two-wheelers fell 41% to 1,07081 units in March, while exports were virtually stable at 1,49243 units.
Total commercial vehicle sales increased 4% to 40,884 units the month before, up from 39,315 vehicles sold in March 2021, according to the survey.
