Collector Asha Ajith announced on Monday that three noon meal centres (NMCs) in the Sivaganga district had achieved ISO 9001-2015 certification for efficient delivery and quality control.
Recently, the State government assigned Quest Certification Limited, based in Chennai, to conduct an audit on the operations of 100 NMCs in Tamil Nadu to obtain ISO certification.
After visiting the district’s noon meal centres, the audit officers selected three schools: Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Tirupuvanam Panchayat Union, Milaganur Government Higher Secondary School in Manamadurai Panchayat Union, and O Pudur Middle School at Anna Nagar in Sivaganga Panchayat Union.
Following his presentation of the ISO certificates to the school administration, the Collector examined the kitchen of a noon meal centre and sampled the food prepared for student consumption, according to officials.
The Department of Social Welfare officials stated that staff members would be able to increase their effectiveness and quality with the help of an outside audit. The goal was to create and apply the methodology to ensure quality and other components were never compromised.
