The execution of the Decree by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, No. 718, issued on June 3, 2019, regarding the establishment of the Government Cloud (G-cloud) and the delivery of cloud services is ongoing.
The Ministry of Science and Education is the newest governmental body to migrate its information systems and assets to the “Government Cloud.”
The Education System’s Informatization Department under the Ministry has partially transferred its information systems and resources to the Baku Data Center, managed by “AzInTelecom” LLC under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. Through the use of the Colocation service in the “Government Cloud” initiative, the Department of Informatization of the Education System transferred its resources, guaranteeing the high availability of essential systems.
It is important to highlight that “AzInTelecom” LLC, functioning under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, is the entity accountable for the “Government Cloud” initiative. In this initiative, the IT systems of government institutions are completely or partially transferred to AzInTelecom’s data centers located in Baku and Yevlakh. This migration results in lower IT expenses for government agencies and enhanced efficiency of information systems. The initiative further improves the security of information systems, creates a stable and sustainable IT infrastructure, and delivers high-quality services with timely coordination and 24/7 oversight.
“AzInTelecom” LLC is the inaugural entity in Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus area to receive the international compliance certificate “TIER III.” Furthermore, it runs two data centers situated in Baku and Yevlakh, which comply with the requirements of the “ISO 20000,” “ISO 22301,” and “ISO 27001” certifications.
