Chaitra Shukla Pratipada is considered one of the best days, as per ancient scriptures; moreover, it marks the creation of the universe by Brahmaji. On this auspicious day, Janki Devi Memorial College, University of Delhi, concluded its ISO 21001 certification process.
This year the college authority celebrated the festival on the theme Viveksheel Yuva – Vishwa Guru Bharat. On the second day of the celebration, 440 students won everyone’s hearts with their outstanding performances in over 13 competitions. A total of around 800 students took part in the fest to showcase their talents, and over 2000 students marked their presence on both days.
The college organized numerous competitions for students on the second day of the festival. The innovative and creative spirit of the students is visible through the Hindi names given to different contests depending upon the presentation. The representations of the competitions are as follows: Shringar for Mehndi, Aalap for Solo song, Kavyam for Poetry, Navrang for Poster making, and Taal for Solo dance.
The highlight of the program was the use of Indian New Year colors for decoration. The college also organized a memorable program for the new year, which was the inauguration of the event with lamp lighting and invocation.
The major attraction of the fest is New Year Abhinandan song sung by students in Sanskrit. Furthermore, the yoga club presented a beautiful presentation of yogic practices, a singing competition on the quatrain verses of Ramcharit Manas, and a dance on various folk songs.
